Riding gloves are divided into full finger and half finger. According to common people’s habit, wear full fingers in spring and autumn, and half fingers in summer. Many people have no objection to this, and they do the same.
According to my point of view, half-finger gloves are mainly handsome.
I have already said that the role of gloves in riding is: shock absorption, anti-skid, anti-fall, protect fingers from injury while driving, and anti-sneak and warmth.
Let me briefly introduce the use of gloves. You can compare the advantages and disadvantages of full-finger gloves and half-finger gloves.
Everyone knows that there are basically two silicone pads on the glove, one on the base of the finger and the other on the base of the finger. The other is at the base of the palm. Two silicone pads (some at the base of the thumb) are used to slow down the bumps and vibrations generated during the driving of the car, protect the palm, prevent the palm from shaking for a long time, and numb under bumps.
Sweat easily when riding a bicycle. The same is true for the palm.
General riding gloves, there will be some small pores in the middle of the palm, which has a certain degree of air permeability. The palm of the glove is generally made of wear-resistant and non-slip materials, which can increase the strength of the glove. Friction, so when riding with gloves, it will effectively avoid some of the symptoms that occur without gloves, such as sweating, slippery palms, and inability to hold the handlebars.
The above two points, there is no obvious difference between full-finger gloves and half-finger gloves.
As for the protection of the palm of the hand in the event of a collision, the full-finger gloves are no problem. But half-finger gloves do not work. The bare fingers suddenly touch the ground, can they not get hurt? Spring and autumn (early spring and late autumn) cannot keep warm.
So, in summary, when riding, especially professional riding or long-distance riding, please wear full-finger gloves and try not to wear half-finger gloves.
Of course, in some places, full-finger gloves are inferior to half-finger gloves, that is, half-finger gloves are slightly more flexible in terms of fingers when riding things from a pocket or operating a mobile phone. Therefore, the key to what gloves to wear when riding depends on the aspect you choose.
The above mentioned are relatively thin full-finger cycling gloves, suitable for spring, summer and autumn. If you are cycling in late autumn, early spring or winter, you need to wear thicker full-finger cycling gloves.
